Western Digital (WD) announced a new network storage system – ShareSpace that is composed of 4 HDD which total capacity is 4 TB. Big companies would surely need such data storage solution because of the support offered for the Microsoft Active Directory service. It can be also used as an iTunes server.
As it is seen on the image exists an USB 2.0 slot to which can be connected USB flash memories and from what can be downloaded the information (independently from the PC) by a simple press of the button.
ShareSpce supports FTP and HTTP downloading and comes with an integrated FTP server version.
In the back exist additionally two more USB slots for the connecting to the PC or Server. ShareSpace also have LAN Gigabite 10/100/1000Mbps connector and it supports HDD configuration in RAID 0/1/5.
On the market will appear two WD ShareSpace variants with the capacity of 2 TB and 4 TB at a price of 470 and 670 Euro.
