Almost all of us remember those red swiss army clasp knives that were popular enough some time ago. At the same time all of us remember John Lennon's message of peace and harmony – "all you need is love" – that is probably one of the most profound and simple messages ever sung or uttered in the history of the world. Both of them seem to be incompatible, yet the group of designers consisting of Qian Jiang, Yiying Wu and Carolina Flores tried to take the cutting edge and negative association away from the words "army" and "knife" and replaced it with the message of love and care – "Swiss Peace knife". Thus they managed to reinterpret this army icon of multi-functionality into a handy pocket tool. Given gadget represents an useful, but harmless, device that includes: a pill box, bandages, disinfectant spray and whistle. Of course it may not be as popular as its predecessor, but it will probably serve as a symbol of peace. In my view such kind of gadgets are of great importance not because of the features they possess, but due to the fact that they carry an important educational message. So it would be really great if even bigger amount of such peace devices appeared in the future.
