New features have been opened to PlayStation 3 users. Sony has announced an upgrade to the PS3’s Firmware to version 2.70. Now new Text Chat is available. It is a simple way to communicate online with PlayStation Network friends. User can type messages using the on-screen keyboard or a wireless keypad. Text Chat can be used during game play. User would be able to access up to three chat rooms and to sort listing of friends according to their online status. It will also add the option to send files up to 3 MB. But this is not all. Video back-up service was added. It let video files bought from the Play Station Store be archived into an external hard drive. Downloaded videos also can be copied over to the PS3.
