As expected, today, Samsung Electronics in cooperation with Google held a special event in Hong Kong. The event included only two world premieres: Samsung officially announced the smartphone Galaxy Nexus, and Google unveiled all the cards on the operating system Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.

Taiwanese company HTC expands its number of Touch series smartphones with the model Touch HD a phone that combines style and design with high-end functionalities. Being a part of a large number of Touch phones, this unit has a touchscreen with WVGA resolution (480 x 800) and a normal HTC interface, TouchFlo3D that offers fast and intuitive access to the phone functionalities.

As we hoped, Swiss gentlemen from Ulysse Nardin haven’t allowed a slight doubt to emerge in our minds about their punctuality. Right as they said earlier this month, a very first smartphone with hybrid technologies in it will be unveiled at Baselworld. Today is the first day of the exhibition – and here it is then - Ulysse Nardin Chairman hybrid smartphone. A couple of weeks back Ulysse Nardin shared only a picture of the phone’s main feature – a kinetic charger. At that time it may have looked sketish and one could thing that it wouldn’t be a handy prototype neither it would be any good as a smartphone when they show it. But from now Ulysse Nardin’s should be considered by others as a competitor because along with functionality and style Chairman brings character of a discrete device for grown-ups.

Watt dynamics and a very familiar interface, that was fully copied from the world's most famous smartphone - iPhone. Not sure, would Apple sue manufacturers of this device for stealing their intellectual property, but if this phone will be sold only inside the country there will be no problems for Epoq at all.

With reference to the source of their Chinese colleagues published some data on the new smartphone Meizu MX. It is expected that the device will debut later this month on the Chinese market.

The official premiere of the next Samsung smartphone known by the code name Hercules will held on September 26 this year, at least, the information contained in the roadmap of T-Mobile says so. Recall that the first mention of the device was held not so long ago - in May this year. According to new data, Samsung Hercules gets 4.5-inch touch screen with resolution of 480 x 800 pixels, made using Super AMOLED Plus technology.

Along with the gaming smartphone Xperia Play, Sony Ericsson has introduced the day before the exhibition opening MWC 2011 two more mobile devices of the family Xperia - Neo and Pro. Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo is built on a single-chip system with Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8255 CPU running at 1 GHz, and runs on Android 2.3 Gingerbread.

Although it looks like Omnia, it is a simple phone with no smartphone functionality. However, it is a feature packed phone indeed.

Within twenty days after the initial announcement, Sony Ericsson has officially announced Mix Walkman phones and txt pro for users who cannot imagine their life without social networks. New gadgets have different designs but their characteristics are identical. The most interesting social networks phone seems to be txt pro, because it is equipped with a mechanical pull for QWERTY keyboard making it much easier to communicate via internet.

Since 1984, when cell phones hit the shelves, thier functionality has been expanded only a few times. In the nineties these milestones were first smartphone, and then the PDA based on Windows Mobile. Finally, in January 2011, another milestone was the product from Motorola. What's next - is not known and not so important in the context of this material. Now we're talking about a future that has already become real - on the Motorola Atrix 4G.

et us hope that we will see the implementation of this great idea, and it is very curious how the electronics world will turn after this invention. Maybe in not so distant future we will no longer need to buy RAM modules for our PCs, our smartphones will work for a week (month?) on one battery charge.

The year last year, or more specifically the second half of the 2009, was gratefully decorated with major smartphone announcements. Just to name a few let's bring up in mind iPhone 3GS and Palm Pre coming one after another and followed by the mobile hero of the year - the HTC Hero. Then the long awaited Sony Ericsson XPERIA X2 and Motorola Droid made their appearance. By now we have Nexus One added to that lot. iPhone 3GS, despite being a revamped one and a half year old second-gen iPhone is holding very strong to its positions and better still beats the newcomers by an immense rate when it comes to loading a web page, as our colleagues were lucky to discover. If take a look in the future however we might see there an eye-pleasing glow of iPhone 4G coming out in May, 2010. At least this is what rumor mill has erected.

Almost all smartphones and laptops nowadays have Wi-Fi built-in; it gives them possibility to connect to the Internet wirelessly in one of the many existing Hot Spots - places where the Wi-Fi Access Points are placed. However, requirements in access points limit the spreading of Wi-Fi, mainly because they must be purchased, manually placed and configured.

Another Android smartphone is leaked, but unfortunately we can't say that it is going to start its sales any time soon. This time it's Sony Ericsson who fancy Android for its top range mobile phone, for next XPERIA division model to be precise. Parallels with HTC Hero here are possible, of course, but I fear they would be untimely because Rachel, so is its codename, sports some interesting features that make it stand out a bit.

Korean company Pantech announced the launch of sales in the domestic market of new tablet Vega N ˚ 5 (aka IM-T100K). It took Pantech about six weeks to make Vega N ˚ 5 since its announcement on May 26 until it went on sale in Korea. The configuration of the tablet during this time has not changed: the device is still equipped with 5 " touch screen featuring resolution of 800 x 480, 1 GB RAM, 16 GB of internal flash memory.

At the disposal of our Italian colleagues were images of the new business smartphone LG, equipped with a mechanical QWERTY keyboard. New gadget called Optimus Pro (aka LG C660) and as it became known will be sold in Italy at a price of 179 Euros. There is not much information on the specifications of the smartphone, but some of them will help you make an opinion on the new product.

While whole world enjoys the advantages that 3G networks bring, including video calls and fast Internet connection, it's time to look forward into the future. Not so long time ago, new communication standard hit the floor - it was named WiMAX, and it is the most advanced wireless internet technology up-to-date. It is like a WiFi, only way faster, and the area is huge - 75 km radius compared to only 1 km of WiFi. This advanced technology can help in spreading Internet connection over the whole city, connecting it into WMAN (Wireless Metropolitan Area Network). Several companies in Russia already put their stakes on it, and they got a pretty good coverage in the biggest cities. One of these companies, Yota, even contacted HTC, largest PocketPC smartphones manufacturer, for releasing a special smartphone for their WiMAX network. And here it is - new powerful smartphone from HTC, with full WiMAX possibilities and great hardware, exclusive to Russia-only.

Chinese manufacturers are widely known for their inclination to copying famous brands and faking them. People were shocked when Nokla phones were sold instead of Nokia, and some of the less advanced users didn't even notice that they are using fakes. Internet is full of images and photos of different fakes from the Chinese so-called "brands", with very creative names: from well-known Nokla and Sany Ericssan to Nokir and HiPhone. Well, it looks like we finally got our selves a leak from Samsung of their upcoming replacement for Omnia PRO B7320. The B7330 has been rumored around the Web for a wile now, so we know that most of specs represent a steady progress of its predecessor. And now fresh photos do the same thing with design. So far, we can say B7330 is less thick, has a slightly bigger screen, keyboard has been changed a bit but still is a QWERTY. Omnia PRO B7330 will come out in October for a price we can only guess.
