I started using my shake weight on Christmas EVE..I had asked my hubby to get it for me for Christmas, and I am so glad he did! I love it. Have used it every day Since 12-24-10 and I already can tell some difference. I can't wait until a month, two months, a year down the road to see what a difference it makes. With diet and other forms of exercise including cardio, this shake weight makes a perfect addition to my routine!!!

I LOVE THE SKAKE WEIGHT! i had it stored for like a year in my closeet because i didnt know how to use it and a few days ago i put in the dvd and did the extercises and loved it. IT doesnt feel like ur working out for 6 mins because time flys. Also my arms are looking much better! it tones them!

Most of the shake weight DVD exercise routine is spent doing "active recovery", or lifting, stretching and contracting targeted muscles, rather than actually shaking the shake weight, which is nearly impossible in the some of the required positions. I "feel the burn", but I wouldn't give up my other daily lifting, stretching and contracting targeted muscles for the shake weight and count on it to tone up my arms on its own.

I got this product 5 days ago and have been using the Shake Weight twice a day and I have noticed a difference in my arms and I have been using two 5 pound weights for 3 months and have not seen the effects of that.. so to all the negative comments.. to each their own,. this product makes you work out and pay attention and if your neck hurts then your bending your neck when exercising.. look in the mirror to make sure your doing the exercises right, you should feel a good burn and your muscles should feel good.. I am going to keep using it.. there are proper ways to exercise. it is suppose to be controlled movements.. not move your whole body. it has nothing to do with losing weight so I dont know where anyone is getting that idea but it is about toning your arms. the more muscle you burn the more calories you burn. it is a overall exercise regimen. I rather work out at home.. than a gym. I would recommend this product. and to the negative people.. unless you have something nice to say dont say it.. it isnt your money.. go find something else to complain about.

This product is not something to completely rely on to "Tone" your arms. You can work all that muscle, but none of it will show with a layer of fat covering it. You need to do alot of cardio, and this is something just to add on to your workout. So all of you that dont run, or workout regularly your just kidding yourself. Quit being lazy, and first step you needa do is run. Or do a dance workout or something before you consider this.

I bought the shake weight a few days ago. After the first session I felt a good burn. The next morning my neck was really stiff. I expect that from strenuous exercise and by the third day it subsided (I did not do the exercise on the second day). However, I also have a sharp pain whenever I tilt or turn my head which has not went away (third day). I have gotten this sharp pain once before when I was doing other shoulder exercises and it did go away after a few days.
After the sharp pain goes away I'm going to try the Shake Weight again because I really did like the good burn. I will not push it as I did initially and hope maybe I just need to acclimate the muscles first.

I have purchased the Shake Weight on Ebay, for $20.00, today.
I am looking forward to using it. I will be taking weekly photos to see if this product does make a difference in my arms.
I will also be updating, weekly.

To those who have rants about this product being a scam, so what? It is not your money, and most SW buyers have been purchasing it for $20.00.. I have spent more than $20.00 on a meal, so why not spend $20.00 for something that may help me tone my arms, obviously with cardio workouts and a healthy diet.
Got to get toned for my best friend's wedding!

for the people who say "shake a can of soup,"-- or "grab a water bottle and move in the same way"-- yes- both of those things will work somewhat as well-- because they're WEIGHTED...... The shake weight has a tadbit heavier of a weight and also is less stressful on your wrists/joints/etc because of the fact that it has springs in it ...they kind of act like shock absorbers... there are pros and cons to anything in life--- and for $20- someone who can't afford or never has time for a gym membership or can't spent thousands on a personal trainer--- or a stay at home mom with 82934789 kids--- this product would be a great addition to their lifestyle. i bought one a few weeks ago in hopes of being able to WORK MY UNDERARMS IN WAYS THAT TRADITIONAL FREE WEIGHTS HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO--- [i know it's probably the way i used them when i went to the gym]-- TO ME, THE SHAKE WEIGHT HAS DONE WONDERS EVEN IN SUCH A SHORT PERIOD OF TIME... i use it for about 20 mins every other day-- it burns- but it works for me! just goes to show everyone is different and you really should try a product before you bash it---- mix it in with some at home cardio to blast fat--- or just dance people :) it will give you so much to smile about.

Just bought the shake weight and used it for the 1st time. I am a little sore after 1st time. I am happy with the product. I think it will be a great addition to my workout regimen especially while I am watching the morning news. Perfect to get in the 9 minute workout. I purchased my Shake Weight @ Bed Bath & Beyond, I used a $5 off coupon so the product cost around $15 plus tax. I would recommend this product.

i do not have this yet! I do have a comment about pain or burning. i was walking and at first the pain was unbearable. my bf told me to walk more. it only hurt more not helped. my brother told me to take tums( yes, tums antiacid chewables) because your muscles tear when they are being built up it releases acid which is what causes the pain. omg in 10 minutes the pain was gone!

I ordered the Shake Weight over the phone on 6-29-10 just got it today. So, the orders must be coming faster. I did the exercises shown on the DVD. I did feel burning toward the end, which is good, I THINK! I'm a tiny person, not overweight at all and will be 70 this mo. I still have a decent figure and keep myself up. When I noticed my arms were getting a little flabby, I panicked. I did try using weights and that didn't seem to do a thing. So, I'm praying that the Shake Weight does the trick in firming them up. After using it for a while, I'll comment again. But, so far I found it to be fun, quick and easy to use. So, far I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Does anyone SEE any actual results from using the shakeweight?? Or do you just FEEL the burn?? I want evidence and testimony of actual VISUAL results! And also, the lady in the DVD looks a little fake in some parts. I wonder if this whole thing is real or not.

i got this product a week ago, and did it 4 times. on the fifth day my arms are stronger and feel more toned. theres a little more definition in some areas, but im sure itll take a month or two to see significant results. the 6 minute workout is actually around 9-10 minutes, but non the less goes by quickly. I recommend this product, and i will reporting back in a month with Before-After pictures for yall to see visually.

Does shake weight make your arms look muscular and manly or does it just make them look feminine and toned? I don't want big man arms ...just to be toned and defined.

When I first saw the product on the informercial, I was very skeptical about the product because it sounded too good to be true. Few months had past and I bought the product because I really wanted to tone my flabby arms. (Ahh...I couldn't resist the temptation to try...)

When I first shaked the product for a few minutes, it didn't have any effect on my arms. Then, I decided to work on the 6 minute workout on the DVD and WOW...I felt my heart rate up and my arms hurt after the workout!

To note, I agree with some of the other reviews that you still need to go on a healthier diet and do cardio exercises, but Shake Weight definitely will help you TONE your arms if you follow the ergonomics of the exercises for 6 minutes. I still wonder if the 'shake' of the weight is really helping me with my muscle atrophy or if its the 2.5lb weights...

I gave in and bought one, I got flabby arms after a RTC, and ended up with whiplash, shoulders injuries, neck and back problems. It works, if you neck is straining you are not holding it right. It works, my arms are a little less flabby already after a fews days use. Here in London, UK, we have have to pay £29.99, that's nearly $35.00 plus tax. I'd have bought 2 if I had seen them in New York, but they were not on sale in the shops yet in April 2010. For all those cynics say a big hello to your bingo wings from the Shakeweight toned armed women.

Yeah, it's funny, and I can't use it when my husband is around due to his inappropriate comments, but this thing is great!

It's not easy to use, if you are using it correctly. Every muscle in your body is supposed to be tensed. Just try shaking the weight without it bobbing around then!

I'm not so sure, yet, about my arms. They are pretty beefy, but I have found a fantastic reason for using it. I've been suffering from Shoulder Impingement Syndrome for years. The physical therapy exercises did nothing. I've had two cortisone shots and was heading towards surgery on both shoulders. I knew the Shake Weight would either hurt my shoulders or help them. And, boy, does it help them! I am practically pain-free in both my shoulders now (I've been using it for three weeks or so). I could barely get through one rep in the shoulder exercises before, but now I can get through them easily (except for the burn the lady warns you about!)

I encourage people to give the Shake Weight a good, serious try.

I got my shakeweight at Sports Authority yesterday. It was $20. I've used it a couple of times and I'm addicted! I did the video and my arms were feeling the burn. When I first opened the package and took it out I thought "where do the batteries go". It's maunualy operated, lol. I thought well that was a waste of money, but I got home did the video and I was pleasantly surprised. It's only been two days, so of course right now I don't see a difference, but I feel one cause my muscles are sore (a good sore). The exercies on the video were easy to follow and memorize so now I do it without the video for a longer period of time. I'm going to reccoment this to my mom and my sister. LOVE IT!

I laughed at the satires; the remarks made by Ellen… I researched the product and most seemed to think that it did work, just not necessarily better than any free weight a person could use. So I got my $5 Bed Bath and Beyond coupon, spent a whopping $15.99, and I love it. It’s actually a 9 minute workout if you do the whole dvd (vs. the advertised six minutes). It’s an easy 9 minutes but you do feel the burn.. and it’s 9 minutes I wasn’t for some reason willing to do at the gym after aerobics or ellipticalling. I’ve had it a month; I do the video at least 5 nights a week, and I’ve seen very significant results. My friends laugh, but I sing the shake weight’s praises to all of them.

Like other reviews said, you can't depend on the SW for total body weight loss and you have to make better food choices and exercise. I am going to write another review in about 2 months.

IT WORKS! I bought it at Target, and was faithful for about 2 weeks. I did see a significant difference. However, I got lazy, so I would watch TV with the shake weight...usually working out mostly my right arm. Wow! I noticed in the mirror that my RIGHT arm was tighter, especially my tricep area.
I've read many bad reviews, and almost didn't buy it, but fortunately I did. It's funny, but the people who buy it, with the exception of a few, really do like it. So most of the bad reviews come from people who haven't tried it. If you're lazy, and hate doing the different sets/weights of exercises for your arms, I would definitely recommend this. I haven't experience neck pain (yet?), but I read you have to keep you head straight, jaw slightly open to minimize the possibility of this problem.

Seriously, how can you think this is an effective product in loosing weight? The people on the adds didn't look like that because they used shakeweight, their on the adds because they look like that. Plus have you heard of any trustful celebrities or athletes who have used this and says it works? Getting slender arms will not be fixed by some specific exercise anyways, you need to loose body fat which is a whole body phenomenon, it's a myth that you can spot reduce areas like sutups make your belly fat go away. Please don't be fooled by advertising gimmicks. Be smart. Use your brain and be aware of the manipulating tricks of advertising.

I used it a little while ago and it is similar to a Jane Fonda's workout, I can feel it in the arms and shoulders once you contract while doing the motions. I do agree with most people when they say that you can do the same without the weights. I am willing to give this a try, kept my receipt however.

I purchased this product 2 weeks ago and never received the product. When I called the 800 number, they couldn't locate my order (by order #, name, phone, anything!) then the extremely rude representative said I would have to give my card info again or she wouldn't help me. I just go mine last night. I am doing a 85 day challenge with the ShakeWeight leading up to a wedding along with my regular diet and exercise program. I have lost 61lbs to date but was looking for something to help tone up my arms. I use 8lb weights and do other arm exercises but I think this will be the extra push they need to be nice and toned. I pray it works the way I want it to. For $20 I can't be too mad!

Just so you idiots get it, there is no such thing as "toning", it is a disgusting myth. What gets you "toned" is losing fat. This piece of junk will not make you lose the flab on your arms, putting down the fork and exercising will.

Go to the gym and lift real weights and get on the treadmill. You will not get big like a bodybuilder, ladies. Your body doesnt produce the hormones necessary to get big.

Hi everyone,

I just bought my Shake Weight yesterday from Target. Only 20bucks, not bad. I got it and became stubborn at the fact that it wouldn't move, but once I put in the little dvd follow along disc, it works. The woman on there shows you different ways to use it, to work all your muscles in your arm, shoulders, and chest. This is my second time using the Shake Weight and I could see the difference in the first try! And I still do keep seeing more and more improvement. I love it! I recommend you try it and if you don't like it i'm sure you can return it. I wouldn't though!

Thank You Shake Weight!

This is my third post to this site; I've been using my Shake Weight regularly since Christmas and the results are amazing. I'm 57 years old and my arms are the best they've ever looked. This device doesn't build big, bulging muscles; it tones those in both the upper and forearms. I graduated from the Shake Weight first to a 5 lb. dumbbell and now an 8 lb. dummbell for the non-isometric exercises, but revert to the Shake Weight for the shaking portions of the DVD workout. To those who've said you can get the same results with regular weights, I agree--but I find this to be fun and easy, and you don't get the video with other devices, and I find it especially helpful.

I've been using the Shake Weight for about two weeks. It's still a little early to see any results. It's essentially just isometrics. You can literally shake a water bottle, the remote control...etc...the same way you would shake the Shake Weight and feel the same burn. Try doing this after shaking the Shake Weight and compare. Better idea, pretend that you are shaking the Shake Weight by just shaking your arms as if you had a Shake Weight. If you shake just right, you will feel the same burn by shaking air! Isometrics work so I guess the Shake Weight will too.

Saw the commercial, read the gadget review here, and decided to give it a try. (Bought from WalMart with the free DVD for $19, WAY less than the commercial is advertising for.)

Based on the footage of people using the Shake Weight and the review here, I was led to believe that the device was mechanical, doing the shaking for you. BOY WAS I WRONG!

Upon listening carefully to the commercial again, it tells you that it is a "manual device which requires no batteries." I was deceived by the toned beauties on the commercial shaking the weight in very small movements which looked mechanical! LOL

To its credit, I have used it for about 2 minutes and I am already "feeling it" in my arms. I'm still not sold and am keeping my receipt, but am willing to give it a try.

I got my shakeweight yesterday!!! It is AWESOME!!! I workout pretty regularly but i am always afraid to work out my arms too much with the fear of getting big/bulky. Generally when I do an upper body workout, I can feel my muscles bulking up and they hurt for days later. With the shakeweight, I feel just enough burn and feel the tightness in a matter of minutes. (And for those of you commenting on a product you have never tried, you need not to say anything. This forum is for people and their results.) I recommend it. It's 20 bucks @ Target! I think it's worth it =)

I'm a man and obviously have not used this product. However, I do know quite a bit about fitness (from both a personal and professional standpoint) and from the looks of it shake-weight should work to tone your arms. On the surface shake-weight looks like it's based on dynamic tension (an exercise method first developed by Charles Atlas - voted the most physically fit man of his time). However, if the exercise is to keep it in one place while it pulses then it's more like isometrics. Either way, it should tone your arms regular use and short/convenient workout sessions. If it's dynamic tension (the exercises are throughout a range of motion) then you'll also build strength but if the exercises are isometric (arm is always in the same place throughout) then you'll only gain strength when your arm in in that position. Either way, however, should tone your arms. Hope this helps...

I posted on this site about a month ago after using the Shake Weight for three weeks. I've continued using it approximately six times a week since then and I'm delighted with my results. It's easy, convenient and IT WORKS. I've graduated to using a 5 lb. weight for the the non-shaking portions of the workout, switching back to the Shake Weight for the isometric parts. I'm looking forward to going sleeveless this summer for the first time in years.

I am very intreguied by this product. It seems most people enjoy it, and that's great because I don't like exercising. However my main concern is whether this will slim my arms down, or just bulk up what's already there. I'm not super heavy or anything, just a little overweight, and my arms have always been a big problem for me (every woman in my family is cursed with bigger arms). I eat fairly healthy, so that's not really an issue. But does this slim and tone, or is all the fat just going to turn into muscle?

I LOVE THE SHAKE WEIGHT! I have recomended it to several people i have only been doing it for a few days but it makes working out fun if you just do the 6 min daily! I find myself picking it up and doing a few reps and shakes inbetween work outs! I am a large girl and I think this is going to help me tone and lose upper body flab! If you lay on your back and lift your legs and cross your ankles lift your head and shake in reps then it works your abs too!! Just tried that on a hunch! the possibilities are endless! Worth every penny spent for sure!

I thought this thing was just another promise but the cost persuaded me to give it try. I highly recommend this tool. I combine other arm exercises with it and it's even motivated me to to get up and get fit! Women, I recommend this product for your summer arms!! I have an operated hernia so if you have ailments like back problems I recommend you wear a brace to keep your posture tight.

THIS DOES NOT WORK!!!!!!!!it's just a handweight with a spring on either side and you can only perform isometric exercises with it - it's not a healthy way to train your muscles and is making a very slim connection to vibration training, which is well researched and documented as effective. in years to come this will be seen as one of those gimics that everyone was tricked into buying that did not work. if you hold your arms in a similar position and shake them about you'll feel the same burn that everyone is going on about. buy a set of heandweights and work your muscles in their full range of motion......they will look better, function better. the advertisement is a very clever sales job - DONT BE FOOLED BY THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I bought mine from target for $20 (obviously cheaper than getting it from TV since i didn't have to pay S&H). So far, i love it. Elle Degenerous has been advertsing these on her show alot and even gives them out to the audience and celebrity guest. i doubt she would give something that didn't work, but i think she thought it was hilarious more than an excersize!
» posted by: M. / Jan 23, 2010 02:21 AM
It does work for toning your muscles... just remember that it is not going to take the place of cardio and diet. Eating vegetables and lean protein (and drinking lots of water) are what will help aid in toning and lean muscle growth, and cardio is what will shave and keep off most of the fat in that area. But it's great as a supplement to your workout already, and if you do all these things you will have optimal results with the product.

Well, I just did it again today and let's see whether it really works in a weeks time. BTW, it helps to tone up the arms but does it actually burn the fat?

I got a Shake Weight for Christmas and have been doing the 6 minute workout daily for about three weeks. I'm 57 years old and in pretty good shape, but have never had much definition in my upper arms. I'm happy to report I can tell a real difference in both my upper and lower arms; my biceps are definitely much firmer--not bulky, bulging muscles, but firmed and toned. I've never had sagging, flappy "bat wings" on the underside of my upper arms, but they were a little more jiggly than I would've liked and they're significantly firmer as well. I'm much more likely to stick with an exercise routine that's easy and that I enjoy doing, and this qualifies on both counts.

People, don't waste your time and money on shipping to order this product. It is available in most pharmacy type stores and stores that sell "as seen on tv" products. I actually like it for the fact it is only a 6 minute workout. However, it is only for arms not chest or anything else. The shoulder workout part is the most intense, it really burns. The rest, however, is a decent workout if you only want to tone and not build muscles. I feel for $20 it is worth it. I have been working out for years, and as a woman I tend to get bulkier muscles w/weights and I prefer this to look more lady like. If your neck is hurting afterwards, you may be holding your head down too low during your workout. Do not look down but straight ahead. Also if your neck is soar, it may be an indication it is working.

I tried it last night and it definitely made my arms tired, but it may be that the movements were different from those I usually do. I think I read a positive review of it in Fitness or Self Magazine, which is why I noticed it while I was in the store.

I ordered what I thought was just ONE shake weight for my wife. Then I get a call confirming my order and person I discuss it with says I get a free video with my shake weight (singular as in Qty 1), She makes no mention of the fact that I have an order in for 2 Shake weights and 2 extra paid videos. She in no way confirmed qty. Just tells me it's $19.95 + S&H of about $7. So I'm expecting a bill of about $27. Then I see a pending charge on my bank account of over $80. I call customer service and they say I ordered qty 2 of the shake weight and 2 videos. And of course they can’t do anything about it because it went to shipping. Not that it actually has shipped. I now have to do a return of the products when they arrive and submit a request for refund of my shipping cost back to them. Also their website when ordering had no verify step to be sure you could see what you were ordering before you clicked a final submission. That's a standard action on any reputable online store. These guys may be honest, we'll see... but they sure are amateur's in web sales. I will never do business with them again. And I will quickly return all product, including the one I wanted in the first place if there's the least bit dissatisfaction with it by my wife. This was ridiculous, be careful with this company.

So far I like it and I love that I can feel the burn, that means that it's doing something. Muscles respond to fatigue and after the 6 minutes with the video I definately feel like my arms and upper body had a workout in only 6 minutes. I feel it in my arms, shoulders, biceps, and back as it suggest. So I'm hoping to see results in 30 days. I'll comment then on the results.
