I've been using the Shake Weight for about two weeks. It's still a little early to see any results. It's essentially just isometrics. You can literally shake a water bottle, the remote control...etc...the same way you would shake the Shake Weight and feel the same burn. Try doing this after shaking the Shake Weight and compare. Better idea, pretend that you are shaking the Shake Weight by just shaking your arms as if you had a Shake Weight. If you shake just right, you will feel the same burn by shaking air! Isometrics work so I guess the Shake Weight will too.

I just bought the Shake Weight a few weeks ago. Not only has it toned my arms, but it has significantly improved my hand job performance and stamina. What a great product!

Saw the commercial, read the gadget review here, and decided to give it a try. (Bought from WalMart with the free DVD for $19, WAY less than the commercial is advertising for.)

Based on the footage of people using the Shake Weight and the review here, I was led to believe that the device was mechanical, doing the shaking for you. BOY WAS I WRONG!

Upon listening carefully to the commercial again, it tells you that it is a "manual device which requires no batteries." I was deceived by the toned beauties on the commercial shaking the weight in very small movements which looked mechanical! LOL

To its credit, I have used it for about 2 minutes and I am already "feeling it" in my arms. I'm still not sold and am keeping my receipt, but am willing to give it a try.

I got my shakeweight yesterday!!! It is AWESOME!!! I workout pretty regularly but i am always afraid to work out my arms too much with the fear of getting big/bulky. Generally when I do an upper body workout, I can feel my muscles bulking up and they hurt for days later. With the shakeweight, I feel just enough burn and feel the tightness in a matter of minutes. (And for those of you commenting on a product you have never tried, you need not to say anything. This forum is for people and their results.) I recommend it. It's 20 bucks @ Target! I think it's worth it =)

Got mine at Target, love it so far. I agree with substituting your own weights for part of the video. I did it twice the first time, oh man do I feel the burn! Can't wait for summer....

I'm a man and obviously have not used this product. However, I do know quite a bit about fitness (from both a personal and professional standpoint) and from the looks of it shake-weight should work to tone your arms. On the surface shake-weight looks like it's based on dynamic tension (an exercise method first developed by Charles Atlas - voted the most physically fit man of his time). However, if the exercise is to keep it in one place while it pulses then it's more like isometrics. Either way, it should tone your arms regular use and short/convenient workout sessions. If it's dynamic tension (the exercises are throughout a range of motion) then you'll also build strength but if the exercises are isometric (arm is always in the same place throughout) then you'll only gain strength when your arm in in that position. Either way, however, should tone your arms. Hope this helps...

I posted on this site about a month ago after using the Shake Weight for three weeks. I've continued using it approximately six times a week since then and I'm delighted with my results. It's easy, convenient and IT WORKS. I've graduated to using a 5 lb. weight for the the non-shaking portions of the workout, switching back to the Shake Weight for the isometric parts. I'm looking forward to going sleeveless this summer for the first time in years.

You can get the same results using a pair of regular weights...

Wow I cant believe you all are intrigued by this crap. Its just a way to spend your money. Why not do it old school and actually workout at a gym somewhere or get a personal trainer. That just shows me you all are lazy and giving money to perverts. Do you honestly think they are doing this to improve yourself? I am ashamed that so many people are here would buy such garbage

I am very intreguied by this product. It seems most people enjoy it, and that's great because I don't like exercising. However my main concern is whether this will slim my arms down, or just bulk up what's already there. I'm not super heavy or anything, just a little overweight, and my arms have always been a big problem for me (every woman in my family is cursed with bigger arms). I eat fairly healthy, so that's not really an issue. But does this slim and tone, or is all the fat just going to turn into muscle?

I LOVE THE SHAKE WEIGHT! I have recomended it to several people i have only been doing it for a few days but it makes working out fun if you just do the 6 min daily! I find myself picking it up and doing a few reps and shakes inbetween work outs! I am a large girl and I think this is going to help me tone and lose upper body flab! If you lay on your back and lift your legs and cross your ankles lift your head and shake in reps then it works your abs too!! Just tried that on a hunch! the possibilities are endless! Worth every penny spent for sure!

Can the shake weight trim fat wrists too???

I ordered my shakeweight online and so far I love it!! I've used it every other day for 2 weeks now and plan to use it more often now. My arms were bulky and now they are toning just right. I thought this thing was just another promise but the cost persuaded me to give it try. I highly recommend this tool. I combine other arm exercises with it and it's even motivated me to to get up and get fit! Women, I recommend this product for your summer arms!! I have an operated hernia so if you have ailments like back problems I recommend you wear a brace to keep your posture tight.

Has anyone seen their arms get a lot SMALLER though? I want my arms to be small SOO BAD... I have big arms and i don't mind building a LITTLE muscle when i work out my arms but for the most part I want my arms to be a lot smaller than they are now. If i do this thing along with diet and cardio, will my arms be SMALL?

THIS DOES NOT WORK!!!!!!!!it's just a handweight with a spring on either side and you can only perform isometric exercises with it - it's not a healthy way to train your muscles and is making a very slim connection to vibration training, which is well researched and documented as effective. in years to come this will be seen as one of those gimics that everyone was tricked into buying that did not work. if you hold your arms in a similar position and shake them about you'll feel the same burn that everyone is going on about. buy a set of heandweights and work your muscles in their full range of motion......they will look better, function better. the advertisement is a very clever sales job - DONT BE FOOLED BY THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I bought mine from target for $20 (obviously cheaper than getting it from TV since i didn't have to pay S&H). So far, i love it. I could definitely feel it working right away and by the end of the 6 minutes, my arms were burning :) The 6 minutes went by REALLY fast too! Can't wait to start seeing the results!!

Elle Degenerous has been advertsing these on her show alot and even gives them out to the audience and celebrity guest. i doubt she would give something that didn't work, but i think she thought it was hilarious more than an excersize!
» posted by: M. / Jan 22, 2010 06:21 PM
It does work for toning your muscles... just remember that it is not going to take the place of cardio and diet. Eating vegetables and lean protein (and drinking lots of water) are what will help aid in toning and lean muscle growth, and cardio is what will shave and keep off most of the fat in that area. But it's great as a supplement to your workout already, and if you do all these things you will have optimal results with the product.

My boyfriend just bought a shakeweight for me yesterday, I tried it right after I saw it and didn't feel much pain this morning, I was actually very disappointed. Well, I just did it again today and let's see whether it really works in a weeks time. BTW, it helps to tone up the arms but does it actually burn the fat?

I got a Shake Weight for Christmas and have been doing the 6 minute workout daily for about three weeks. I'm 57 years old and in pretty good shape, but have never had much definition in my upper arms. I'm happy to report I can tell a real difference in both my upper and lower arms; my biceps are definitely much firmer--not bulky, bulging muscles, but firmed and toned. I've never had sagging, flappy "bat wings" on the underside of my upper arms, but they were a little more jiggly than I would've liked and they're significantly firmer as well. I'm much more likely to stick with an exercise routine that's easy and that I enjoy doing, and this qualifies on both counts.

People, don't waste your time and money on shipping to order this product. It is available in most pharmacy type stores and stores that sell "as seen on tv" products. I actually like it for the fact it is only a 6 minute workout. However, it is only for arms not chest or anything else. The shoulder workout part is the most intense, it really burns. The rest, however, is a decent workout if you only want to tone and not build muscles. I feel for $20 it is worth it. I have been working out for years, and as a woman I tend to get bulkier muscles w/weights and I prefer this to look more lady like. If your neck is hurting afterwards, you may be holding your head down too low during your workout. Do not look down but straight ahead. Also if your neck is soar, it may be an indication it is working.

If your neck is hurting you might be using it the wrong way? Maybe your trying to do too much too soon? It is really a great product from what I've seen.

In response to posted by: John R / Dec 29, 2009 09:01 AM I too am having the same experience. I sure feel like an idiot. The tracking number they sent me directs me to an invalid link. I can't find it under UPS or USPS so I did send them an email and will be calling them as well. This definitely raises a red flag!

Wow. I bought it because it looked funny and I was going to give it to a friend as a gag gift, but I decided to sneak in a workout first. It seriously works. My arms are burning - the shoulder exercises are especially good. I don't think I'm going to give this thing away!

I've used mine twice and my neck feels like I've got whiplash. You can't shake this thing without your head moving and it is very painful in the neck. I picked it up at CVS for $19.99 and it's going back.

TARGET has them for 19.99 with a $5 GIFT CERTIFICATE.

I have used it since Sunday and boy are my arms feeling it!! I think it might really work, BUT I will have to let you know. If it doesn't work then it will reside next to my thigh master!!! For 15.00 it is worth it

You can buy it at Target for $19.99. If you get it before January 3rd 2010 you get a $5 gift card with it. I tried it last night and it definitely made my arms tired, but it may be that the movements were different from those I usually do. I think I read a positive review of it in Fitness or Self Magazine, which is why I noticed it while I was in the store.

I ordered what I thought was just ONE shake weight for my wife. Then I get a call confirming my order and person I discuss it with says I get a free video with my shake weight (singular as in Qty 1), She makes no mention of the fact that I have an order in for 2 Shake weights and 2 extra paid videos. She in no way confirmed qty. Just tells me it's $19.95 + S&H of about $7. So I'm expecting a bill of about $27. Then I see a pending charge on my bank account of over $80. I call customer service and they say I ordered qty 2 of the shake weight and 2 videos. And of course they can’t do anything about it because it went to shipping. Not that it actually has shipped. I now have to do a return of the products when they arrive and submit a request for refund of my shipping cost back to them. Also their website when ordering had no verify step to be sure you could see what you were ordering before you clicked a final submission. That's a standard action on any reputable online store. These guys may be honest, we'll see... but they sure are amateur's in web sales. I will never do business with them again. And I will quickly return all product, including the one I wanted in the first place if there's the least bit dissatisfaction with it by my wife. This was ridiculous, be careful with this company.

I got the shake weight for xmas playing the gift exchange game, and today is the 1st day that I tried it. This is available at Walgreens for $20.00. So far I like it and I love that I can feel the burn, that means that it's doing something. Muscles respond to fatigue and after the 6 minutes with the video I definately feel like my arms and upper body had a workout in only 6 minutes. I feel it in my arms, shoulders, biceps, and back as it suggest. So I'm hoping to see results in 30 days. I'll comment then on the results.

I've been using mine for about 3 weeks and notice a significant difference in my arms. I tend to have a lot of trapezius pain with almost any upper body excercise, but I have not had any pain using this. I do it almost everyday, and feel very motivated to continue because it only takes a short time and I'm seeing results.
