Sanyo's Rain Water Purification/Sterilization System to purify rainwater

Jul 25, 2009
With ever growing demand on clean water and an amount of rain water being wasted in vain, Sanyo made up its mind to engineer an intelligent water purification and sterilization system. The system is reported to use its ozonation technology which helps to sterilize and purify rain water. This high efficiency system uses rain water collected in a tank. The system itself is able to save energy during those sultry days.

Once the system is installed, it is expected to be tested in Japan to make sure its operation is efficient. In fact, using the system allows users to reduce their electricity bills. Running down a gutter, rain water is collected in a water storage tank to be finally purified and sterilized. After water purification and sterilization, the ozone is transformed into oxygen with no residues left.

The purification unit of the Sanyo’s system is attached to the water storage tank. So once rain water is purified it is transported through the water storage tank whether it is a rooftop or other outdoor facility. The purified rain then sprinkled or sprayed. The system has an alternative to use makeup water when there is a shortage of rain water.

You may easily save on using your air conditioner, as purified and sterilized rain water keeps room temperature low due to the sprinkled water on a rooftop which gets heat. Thus electricity is reduced cooling capacity is increased while you are still in a cooled room. The Sanyo water purification and sterilization system reduces your tap water consumption.
