One of AMD’s latest efforts in processor development – the hexacore “Thuban” – is reportedly preparing for its release date on the April, 26th. That is two months from the moment of writing. However, Thuban’s first public appearance will happen much sooner and that will be right up next week, you guessed it, at CeBIT 2010. All three: Phenom II X6 1035T, Phenom II X6 1055T and Phenom II X6 1075T that represent AMD Thuban range will be showcased with specs and (hopefully) benchmarks.

Have you already heard about Intel's new Pine Trail chipset and Pineview processor? That's right, those designed for netbooks and nettops. Their recent appearance sure is good news especially for those who were holding out to buy a netbook until 2010 arrives. Well guess what, Intel has unveiled some details on what next generation Cedarview Atom platform will look like which makes me think how many people who were going to spend their money on Pine Trail are going to say: "No, there is no point, is there? I want Cedarview already."?

What are the best processor speeds in mobile devices nowadays? About 600 to 700 MHz, right? Samsung has introduced two new application processors today. NVIDIA nForce 980a SLI chipset is set to be launched. Santa Clara, California-based NVIDIA designs new high performance motherboard chipset which is able to combine the computing power of AMD's latest 45nm-based Phenom II processors with the graphics performance of NVIDIA's GeForce graphics cards. The new chipset called MCP82 XE is going to be launched at the end of the march under its name nForce 980a SLI. The new nForce chipset is reported to be the MCP72 XE supporting the latest AM3 processors, on both DDR2 and DDR3 motherboards. The MCP82 AMD-supporting chipset is a new motherboard GPU which has PCIe 2.0, HyperTransport 3.0, Triple SLI support, Hybrid SLI, a total of 12 USB 2.0 ports, SATA 3GB/s ports, Gigabit Ethernet and HD Audio.
