The niche of small, light and high-performance headphones has been owned in 2007 by Klipsch and their award winning Image X 10 headphone set. Back then they were stunning and the price was concordant - more than 300 USD. Today Image X 10 (or similar Klipsch models) are cheaper but still as good as they used to be for two years now. And now here is Thanko with their new mp3 headset. They say and many people agree that they are sporty, sleek and light - all the characteristics Klipsch is famous for. So, let’s find out if they really match with big boys. The main thing that differs Thanko MP3 headphones from the others is that they come together with a 2 GB MP3 player. And that makes a difference only if 2 GBs are enough for you and/or you don’t have an MP3 player, because otherwise you would likely buy one and keep it in your pocket instead of on your hind head. If so, it will probably have considerably more than 2 GB. I can't stop thinking I will mess buttons on the body for a couple of times because they are out of sight. To each his own though, so let’s move to specifications. Built in MP3 player will playback music for 5 hours and lithium ion battery life I believe may vary depending on what format you will choose: MP3, WAV or WMA. Synchronization with PC is done via USB 2 port. PC should run Windows XP or Vista. I am interested if Thanko is also compatible with Windows 7 but there is no info on that.
The one thing and one of the only that I can’t dispute is whopping price of the thing - whoppingly small price. At home market it will be yours for about 5000 JPY. Search GeekStuff4U if you got interested.
