CeBIT 2010: Asus Eee PC 1015P, 1016P & 1018P first in public
More details on what CeBIT 2010 will be entertaining tech industry with. New ASUS Eee PC netbooks will be shown there. Three 10.1 inch models: 1015P, 1016P and 1018P follow their ancestors’ trend of becoming more and more grown up and mature with every iteration. They even have aluminum body, as seen on the picture of the entry level 1015P. Which is largely derived from 1005PE, but visibly is thinner, has a bigger touchpad and is a bit prettier. The other two models are more business-headed. The 1018P is even USB 3.0 enabled as we have it. Obviously, there is so much more to it from the inside because it has by far the shortest battery life – 10 hours. 1015P and 1016P will top 14 hours. Still, we like the way Eee PCs evolve. More on that when CeBIT opens it doors to the media.

Toshiba A100 smartbook runs Android 2.1, comes out this summer
Toshiba is entering netbook market this August with its new AC100 smartbook. You can think of it as a netbook sans desktop operating system but with a mobile one instead. It all seems very promising to me, especially after I looked at A100’s specifications. It is designed round NVIDIA Tegra 250 SoC, manages with just 512MB RAM but works on an SSD. It is a well known fact that no other feature gives out as much performance as an SSD. At this point I wonder if smartbooks like Toshiba A100 will be more capable than yet to see Chrome OS machines and have better user experience than netbooks with desktop operating systems. Check out Toshiba A100’s specs after the jump.

Acer Aspire One AO533 leaks with latest Intel Atoms and Bluetooth 3.0 under the hood
Looks like Intel Atom N455 and N475 processors quietly make their way to OEMs. Just like we said, June is the month when updated Pine Trail lineup becomes available. I’m sure there will be a lot more Intel Atom N455 and N475 machines at the time, mind you we are looking forward to them because they are DDR3 compatible, but for now we only have a new Acer Aspire One 533 with the choice of both of these processors. Naturally, AO533 features DDR3 system memory and thanks to its lower power consumption, battery life is prolonged to 10 hours compared to AO522 which looks much of a donor for AO533. No goodies such as USB 3.0 or DirectX 11 support therefore. However, you can have it with Bluetooth 3.0.

Onkyo MX1007A4 netbook has 14.4h battery life
What do you do if you are not among world’s major manufacturers but you have desire and ability to make something competitive on the market? Onkyo has picked up one of the all-time good solutions for its MX1007A4 netbook coming out in Japan next week - made one feature noticeable among all the others. This has 14.4 hours of battery life and no, it doesn’t weight a ton. In fact it’s barely over a kilo – 1.16kg (2.56lbs) to be precise. At this point I’m guessing that battery life this long is achieved not by a huge battery in first place, but by very economic power management. Which means the MX1007A4 does not have too many features to play with. I can’t blame Onkyo’s latest netbook for that. I think it makes perfect sense and featurelessness to it will make it cheap also. Mind you though that MX1007A4 has just enough of everything for everyday life. Check out specs we have scraped up together form Japanese press release.
