Amazon Kindle 2 has recently got its biggest price cut ever since. Being still the best ebook reader available, it is hardly arguable that with time running fast it has to get cheaper every once in a while. Especially considering the growing opposition by AUO seen at Display Taiwan 2009. Or take any other popular ebook reader out there and it will also be hunting Kindle down. There we are then – Kindle 2 has now gone under psychological barrier of 300 USD. Which means it is almost two hundreds less than its main rival – Kindle DX, of course. The best is the enemy of the good. This was the main reason for Kindle DX to appear as I see it. Whatever you need from an ebook reader, Amazon is right there with a choice of 6" or 9.7" displays, thousands of books with access to each in under a minute. There still is however two major of the DX over the smaller version: native PDF reader and landscape mode. In rest, 299 USD for the original Kindle 2 is a reason to become a passionate reader even if you were not.
