Modern portable devices surely have many abilities. Some gadgets are like computers, running on OS like Windows Mobile or Symbian, which gives users almost full PC experience. However, all portable devices lack one important detail - the comfortable keyboard for text input. Of course, you can try on-screen virtual keyboard on touchscreen devices or hardware keyboard but the buttons on them are too small to be comfortable. There are Bluetooth keyboards for this matter, but they must be carried along with the device. Maybe it is better when keyboard is always ON you?Designer Erik De Nijs has created an ultimate computer geek's jeans. The most interesting detail in them is... integrated rubber keyboard! It is Bluetooth enabled and can be paired with any portable device that supports this feature. It has all the buttons the usual keyboard has, it even has mouse hidden inside the back pocket and sewn-in speakers on the knees. The text can be entered by tapping your pants, although it might look very strange. While laptops have their own normal keyboard it is strange that you would need a keyboard like this, but it can be useful for all those smartphones and PDAs, which lack hardware keyboard.
The keyboard in front makes them look stupid and geeky. Maybe these jeans will be suitable for LAN parties, it is arguable if this type of outerwear can be worn every day. And don’t blame people if they look at you like at an idiot while you are typing text on this pants - it really looks very strange. Fortunately, these are just a concept, so do not expect someone walking with these jeans on. At least, not yet.
