Revolutionary Electronic Cigarette by Fifty-One

Nov 12, 2008
Electronic cigarettes are not new, but new technology can be introduced into the field to help those who want to reduce tobacco smoking or even quit. Fifty-One has come out with a new electronic cigarette that could make the switch to a better smoking alternative quick and easy. If you’ve already tried other brands and were not happy with them, you should continue reading.

What makes Fifty-One different than other electric cigarettes is for starters, the Fifty-One electronic cigarette looks and feels like a real tobacco cigarette, making it comfortable to use by old and new smokers alike. Secondly, it comes in two parts - the first is a rechargeable battery and the other is a disposable cartridge, and inside the cartridge you will find the nicotine pad and atomizing mechanism. Once the disposable cartridge if finished, all you need to do, is simply screw off the old and screw on the new. No cleaning or maintenance needed like other brands. A main advantage of this device is the atomizer is never reused, so you don’t have to worry about problems including nicotine build-up, clogging and residue. Smoker will draw in a “vapor” that is thick enough even to be noticeable when exhaled. In addition, it is not classified as smoke, which allows smokers to smoke it in public places.

I tried it, but the butts didn't last as long as promised and quite often they burned, tasted bad and irritated my throat. Could not continue using them. Wouldn't waste my money on the Fifty One brand. Also, one crapped out the first week and had to have it replaced.

Great product. However, had I not improvised on my own, I would have been very very disappointed with this product. What you need to do is buy liquid nicotine and manually refill (by adding droplets onto open filter cotton) the filters. With my liquid nicotine at hand, whenever the flavor of nicotine is gone, I don't apply a new fifty-one filter... I just add a few liquid nicotine drops and voila. Battery dies quick, but hey from 2 packs a day to nothing on this gadget is really really worth it for me.

JUNK! Very disappointed because my husband and I were both so excited about this product. Does not hold a charge and we have 6 batteries! A few puffs and on to a new filter when it is charged. Also, the filter burned twice and got real hot and "snoked" a lot. What a disappointing purchase! $800. plus in filters and batteries down the drain!

I'm new to these, but, this one is pure junk! I wish I would have thought to make sure I bought one that was made in the USA!! And, on top of it, the person at the store told me, "if you don't like it, you have 30 days to return it, no problem!" Well, since it's terrible, I TRIED to return it today, and he told me, "oh, I can only take it back if it's defective." WELL, IT IS!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm so upset I could just scream. There's $70.00 down the drain!

Bought my 51 Trio yesterday - charged battery for 24 hours. Worked great for 5 minutes - that's it. No more vapor. Battery is fully charged. Used a new filter - does not work. Also tried to draw harder - but all I have in my mouth now is liquid nicotine - really bad.

Not worth the money.

This 51-Trio is fine for the price. The only problems are that the battery doesn't hold a charge all day, and that you have to draw so hard to get a decent hit.

I love my Fifty One!!! I have had a few real cigs, but nothing like before! Love that I actually get vapor, so it gives me the feel of a real cigarette, therefore satisfying the "habit". Knowing I am getting some nicotine helps too, and the fact that I can drop down in nicotine levels, enabling me to wein myself off of the nicotine gradually.
For those who are having trouble with yours....try this...screw the filter on until snug, then back it off (loosen it up) just a little bit. This helps to get more air flow in the filter, which allows for better draw of the vapors. Hope this helps!!!

I like the Fifty-One. I bought the 6mg cartridges and they weren't quite strong enough, so you would have to puff on it a few times per inhale (kindof like a "toke" if you will) and that made the battery die in about half a day, and the cartridge wouldn't last more than a day, but with the stronger ones (8mg Vanilla...delicious!) you don't need to "toke" on it since you get your fill in one good puff. I also like you can adjust the strength by tightening it down more or loosening it up a bit. I have no experience with any other E-cigs, but I do like this one a lot and in just the 3 days I've had it my lungs are already clearing out and I am very satisfied with my nicotine need. A little expensive, but for what you get and how well it performs, very worth it. Thank you, Fifty-One!

It really determains who you buy them from. In my town, I bought from a couple who sales them at out local mall, they have a life time warranty, and will exchange the original flavor for another flavor and will exchange the 12 mg for any mg that you would like. And if there are any problems, they will exchange anything. And also you can get multiple flavors for one carton instead of all of them just one flavor. Mix and match is always good!

I returned my Fifty One kit today to the store I bought it, and I ended up exchanging it for one that just came in a new shipment. Apparently the first one I had bought was the older model (the kit came with 2 100 size batteries and a 1mg and 4mg filter). The new kit comes with a 100 and a king size battery and 2 12mg filters. I have been using it all day and I love it! This newer model works great so far. The only complaint I had with this new unit is the 12mg filters that come with it. First of all they don't look like real cigarette filters like the seperate cartridges I bought and the ones that came in the original kit, instead they are solid school bus yellow and also had a extira little plastic plug you had to take out to attach it to the battery, but when I tried using it it spit the liquid nicotine in my mouth, which was pretty gross! I haven't had any problems with the realistic looking ones though. I think there are some issues with the product but the company is quickly working to improve on those points. Overall I'd say it's definately worth the investment!

JUNK ALERT!!! My step-dad and I both bought this Fifty One cig, his last week and mine I bought yesterday, and we are BOTH having problems with our units. I have used mine once and now it doesn't work even though it's fully charged. (The starter kit came with 2 battery units and NEITHER work after 1 day!) Great idea, crap product. It looks nice, but I think they spent all their time making it look good rather than making a working product!!
