"Time" gives the award to the iPhone as "Invention of the year"!

Nov 17, 2007
What is your first reaction after reading this title? Is not it designing one? What features should a gadget possess to merit such award? Let us try to gain an understanding of all this! Internationally known and respected by many people magazine "Time" without any ponderable motivation of such appreciation gives the award to the iPhone as "Invention of the year". Is a negligible commendation enough to gain such an award?

The Time starts to argue its statement with such a heading: "The iPhone is pretty". Then it continues with such lines that confuse and enrage a bit most of users and majority rival phone companies. Here are they:
"Most high-tech companies don't take design seriously. They treat it as an afterthought. Window-dressing. But one of Jobs' basic insights about technology is that good design is actually as important as good technology. All the cool features in the world won't do you any good unless you can figure out how to use said features, and feel smart and attractive while doing it."

And what is your opinion on this matter? I personally think it is like that blond gall in the movies: pretty but stupid. This is my personal opinion. The iPhone maybe a good cell phone however, its creators have limited its functions. On the other hand, maybe it cannot do more than it does.
