Swarovski knows how to delight its customers with new ideas and traditional luxury. This time Swarovski designers' ideas concerned not only masterpieces, but also the unconventional way of their creation.
Eighteen international designers and artists were invited to Swarovski crystal palace to create their own interpretation of a chandelier. The idea and the way it was brought into life are brilliant! The chandelier's inventors were inspired by visual arts, nature and high technology.
Finally, the creators developed an incomparable exhibition of chandeliers that subtly reflected designers' individuality, inspiration and , certainly, incorporated jewels. In my opinion, the most impressive creation of the exhibition is Morpheus chandelier. This exhibit is really amazing as it can match the mood of the viewer, who can change its form as he wishes. This smart chandelier may be turned into a circle, which in a second may be turned into a square, and then into an infinity sign - just anything one's imagination suggests.
These transformations seem to be a miracle, but they have the explanation - the permutations of the ten-foot diameter and 16,000 crystals. Morpheus light sculpture has incorporated six servo-motors and cables which apply pressure to a flexible spring steel assembly. These motors are attached to six points on the perimeter that allows to create almost any shape of the chandelier. The Morpheus chandelier changes its shape so smoothly that it is difficult to track the way how it happens.
