The new space suit has been developed by MIT folks to give a freedom to the astronauts' movements. The gadget is also skintight and does not look as bulky as the ones that are used today. However, the development is not over yet and we can expect these suits to be used in about 10 years.It is called the BioSuit and it will make astronauts feel much more comfortable in open space. The suit will be perfect for such tasks as landing on Mars or the Moon and will be more durable and more effective.
The trick used in this suit is different from what they used up until now. Instead of using gas pressured suit that protected the astronaut from the vacuum in space they used mechanical pressure to protect them. The mechanical counter pressure will hold your body and blood pressure inside it by wrapping you with several tight layers of material.
The trick works but what should you do if the costume is too tight? The folks from MIT have found a perfect solution. The other trick that they used is the lines on the suit. They correspond to the lines on your body that don't extend at all. Does not matter what moves you make those lines of your skin are never being extended. The same way the lines on the suit are support it and never let it to extend. The other parts of the suit are extendable but durable enough to hold the pressures. This gives the astronaut such freedom to move.
They have not found any other way to protect the astronauts head and used the old trusted method. If they will make this suit work it will completely change the way that astronauts look and walk. I have just come up with an idea, let's make the astronauts fashion week, where they would show astronaut suits.
