University of Oslo is the lucky one to have these young researches who had created an Evolving Computer gadget. This computer is able to increase its working speed just like nature using genetic algorithms.A usual genetic algorithm process is taking in real world 20 – 30 thousand generations to pick the perfect design for the system and pieces of it to fit perfectly into the system. It will also take too much time to solve a problem that system encounters.
This computer is able to solve such problems in seconds. It takes this gadget a few seconds to solve a problem that humans would take 8 – 9 thousand years to go through the same number of generations.
What it does is it pars up hardware "genes" to find a perfect design to work as perfectly and as fast as possible. It can reconstruct its process of data handling in seconds which makes it work better with each different task. Just like nature does but this gadget does it thousands times faster.
I would like to have such a machine at home so that it would adjust to what I do. When you play games it would work faster with graphics, when you solve some difficult mathematical programs it would adjust to solve them faster. It would be perfect for a PC.
