Sensor FX force-feed back system on PS3 controllers from Splitfish

Apr 19, 2007
Splitfish Company from Canada announced in January that it is going to create a gadget that would provide sensory feedback to PlayStation 3 controllers. The add-on that they have created would attach to the controller giving it the ability of force feedback.

The Sensor FX will simply be plugged into the controllers USB port and shake it when playing games. Plugging Sensor FX into SIXAXIS controller will give it the rumbling ability without interfering its ability of motion sensing features.

There are now moving parts in the add-on however and it is still a mystery of how they are going to shake the controller. Apparently they got their secrets in creating this gadget. However they say that it is a low power device so it will not suck up all the juice from your PS3 controller's batteries.

Splitfish was also mentioning about building its technology into the controllers. They are going to need to work with video games publishers to decide some questions and some standards about rumbling functions.

So what will be created faster: PS3 & Immersion controllers or the Splitfish Sensor FX add-on? However, it will be not that soon, all we can do is wait and hope for these technologies to come faster to our stores.
