Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 or Nintendo Wii, what is better

Here are three top consoles nowadays that you can choose from. Sony PlayStation 3 the next generation console that continues a glorious path of PlayStation and PlayStation 2. Xbox 360: the next console from Microsoft is created in continuation of Xbox. Finally Nintendo Wii the least expensive and shows the least performance.

So we are going to review and compare them on several parameters, so that you can decide which is better for yourself.

Hardware

Xbox 360 is on the second place by hardware parameters. First of all there are two models that you can buy. One of them is a regular white Xbox 360 with wired controllers and no hard drive. The upgraded model has wireless controllers and a 20 GB hard drive to save photos, videos and audio files. It also has a standard DVD optical drive that allows the console to show HD videos. The last thing that should you should be notified is that Microsoft will upgrade your Xbox 360 for free for it to support full GD 1080p video output.

Sony PlayStation 3 is in the first place if judged by hardware. It has Blue-ray drive that is not available on basic or premium Xbox 360 (You can buy it for additional $ 200 which makes Xbox 360 cost just like PS3.) Besides, the 20 GB hard drive comes in basic model and 60 GB drive comes in upgrade model. Besides the premium version of PS3 has WiFi built in.

Nintendo being the least expensive has the worst hardware built in therefore it shows the least productivity among Xbox 360 and PS3. It has a DVD drive but there is no ability to play DVD movies on it. However, it has WiFi built in to surf the web.

Games

Xbox 360 and PS3 are somewhat even in this classification because the number and the quality of games that are out there on the market are pretty even. PlayStation 3 is supposed to be better in graphics however there are still no games that would show the full possibility of this console.

Xbox 360 will run most of the games that have been created for Xbox but not all of them. On the other hand PlayStation 3 will run all the games of PS and PS2. However, these possibilities will have only the North American and Japan versions of PS3 but not the European version.

Nintendo supports all the games made for earlier consoles: GameCube, NES, SNES and Nintendo 64. However the graphics quality of the games is not that good as it is in Xbox 360 and PS3 games.

Multimedia

First of all I would like to say that Nintendo does not support big movies playback or storage, so we will leave this console out of this part of comparison. Although you can view photos, MPEG and QuickTime movies, MP3 music files on this console; and all that only from SD storage.

The real battle comes between the two mega consoles: Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 here. Fist PS3 was the only console that supported full HD, 1080p, but now Microsoft will upgrade all the Xbox 360 consoles to the same HD. So that evens them out.

Blu-ray drive gives an advantage to Sony PlayStation 3 in storing videos and any files on the disc as they can store much more info and a better game will fit on a bigger Disc.
HD Media Center Extender of Xbox 360 beats PS3 in everything that they can offer. It can show live and recorded HDTV over your network, besides it can download movies and TV shows from the web. The other thing that gives Xbox 360 an advantage is a support of Apple's iPod and Sony PSP. It is the only console that supports video and audio streaming from PC.

Audio support: PS3 has a 5.1 Dolby Surround sound which is not bad until you hear that Xbox 360 has a Multi-channel system that supports up to 256 discrete channels. Wii on the other hand supports Dolby Pro-Logic II.

With xbox360 there were many complains about it. Also, its just cheap. So the bottom line is that is too sensitive

Next is the PS3. Seriously? SerIously. You can do the same thing with the ps2. You can play cds on the Play Station 2 and Play Station 3. Also it may have good graphics but i hate all of the games for the Play Station 3. Im not a girl but i think there too many boy games. Thats just sexis. Here is the definition for that word: When diffrent genders are treated diffrently. So thats why thats out.

So for me ( Just for me ) the Winner is........... Nintendo Wii! That consle is very active and for for a family quality time. Also, it can help you get in shape. This is why this is the best....... for me.

I don't think it matters that xox and ps3 can play dvd's, it's a gaming system, not a video player. Xbox and ps3 have mostly shooting games, wii has that and a little more variety.

Out of the consoles, 2 of them were 360's, and dozens of them were ps3's. One 360 was a problem with the dvd drive. It read games fine, but the people who owned it ripped the tray cover off, and threw the tray off track. I fixed the tray, and it was fine.

The other 360 had an e74 error, which cn be many, many different things. We sent that one to microsoft, and they sent a replacement console free of charge.

With the ps3's, there were way too many to fix to remember all the problems. I remember one had the "red screen of death", there was no way to fix it other than to pay sony to do it. A few of them would not boot at all. Resets, formats, nothing could fix them, except for sending them to sony, and paying a price. Most of them had a shot bluray lens.

I'm not saying that 360 is better, or that the ps3 is junk. I've got 2 broken 360's in my basement, although they were broken when I got them, and in 9/10 case's it's an easy and cheap fix that can be done in short time. I've also got 4 dead ps2's laying down there as well.

Gonna buy a ps3 with a bad bluray lens from work for 20 bucks of so. At least this way I can play some of my old ps2 games, while the drive still works. I'm just glad that my original launch xbox still works.

Xbox 360 and PS3 are pretty well tied in graphics. Most games that come out on both systems end up looking better on Xbox 360, (Resident Evil 5) because they were innitially developed on that system, and then were ported over to the Playstation. Reason being, that the software for game development is much easier to work with on the Xbox than PS3.
Now, PS3 gives more out of the box than the Xbox. Blu Ray player, built in wi-fi, bluetooth compatability, etc.
The Playstation Network does allow for downloadable content, as well streaming files, however in games, the servers and menus are much harder to work with.
I do find it easier to pick up and go, and there is a lot more in terms of troubleshooting if something goes wrong. XBOX offers better connection, and more in XBOX live, but you are paying for it. As well, if something goes wrong, expect a huge pain in the ass trying to get it resolved. XBOX customer service is pretty useless.

Overall, since I have owned all 3 systems, I would say that Playstation 3 is the best system for people who want a long lasting system, and don't want to have to upgrade to the next generation of consoles (Xbox 1080?) Playstation 3 has the capability of lasting through another generation of consoles. Look at Playstation 2, for quite awhile it was beating out sales of the Xbox 360, and still offered some of the best games out there.

Xbox 360 is a better system for online play, but requires you purchasing or upgrading a LOT to get it up to speed with the playstation 3 out of box. Overall, I give it second place.
As well, if you plan to go on XBOX live, be prepared to hear a lot of 10 year old kids, and people from alabama bad talking how you like to have sex with guys.

Wii offers the best local gameplay around. It is a simple system to get used to, and has the Virtual Console, so you can purchase old games for Super Nintendo, NES, Turbo Graphics, and Sega Genesis/Master System.
This system is the best choice for people who don't care about movies, online gameplay, or anything extra. It is completely about gameplay (but does offer things such as weather updates, news broadcasts, and a web browser).

PS3: Long lasting system with the most potential for graphics, and size of games. Blu-ray player is excellent, one of the quickest on the market today (and a feature I use often).

XBOX: Best In Online Play, but lacks in extra features and long lasting potential. Needs a lot of upgrading.

Wii: Best for new gamers, and people concerned with only playing simple pick up and play games.

Now, you pay £300 for an 80gb PS3.. (I think thats right - I have one of the rarer 60gb models which is backward compatible). The XBox is £159.99 for the 60gb model.. Now, if you were to buy a Wireless Network Adapter for around £50, then XBox live for 2 years, (£30 per year = £60) then its still cheaper than the PS3.. You could probably get a wireless headset from Ebay for around £30 - Only exception you will have is NO BLU-RAY on the Xbox... Is this really needed though? Well, in reality, probably YES... Blu-Ray discs have a capacity of 25GB of storage.. making the possibility for MASSIVE graphics and game info to potentially KICK ASS... I would have thought that Microsoft would think about adding a Blu-Ray player at some point but at what cost? Either that, or the concept of Digital Delivery is on the cards...

Xbox live is so much more stable that PSN and worth paying the money to play on Xbox live.. Especially with Call of Duty 5, PSN lags soooo much and even blocks people and keeps kicking people out of games all the time. You can private chat whilst playing and its all done seemlessly.. In my books, you get what you pay for... Paying for XBox live definately pays off!!

Whichever way you decided to go, you have a great system... Ps3 has its upsides and downsides, the Xbox is the same.. Those who choose to argue and bicker about which one is best should be more grown up..

But seriously if you owned a PS3 you'd know that you could watch and rent movies from the SONY store through your PS3. You can stream media through your computer to the PS3 to the PSP. You can save movies, photos, music, etc to your PS3.

And what degree is a 360 anyway? That's going in a complete circle. So, what's Bill Gates trying to tell you? That he took an Xbox and gave it a new case and just sold you old shit in a shiny new box. Ain't you a sad little man.

And oh... Let's not forget about Xbox live... That you have to PAY for. PS3 offers PSN that is free, and you can play your games online with friends for NO SUBSCRIPTION FEE! How's that for building customer loyalty?

And the WII is fantastic for children and fat people wanting to play WII fit. And they also offer a FREE network. *laughs* Bill Gates loves your money so keep buying those SexBoxes, and making him richer.

Oh, and Vista... I'm not even going to get in to that.

Gotta love that PS3 lets you install Linux. Love that PS3... Love it! SONY IS THE BEST HANDS DOWN. Nintendo is second and Micro$uck. Nah... They don't even come close or compare.

I mean, are we buying it to develop the games or play them? Sure the PS3 has a more advanced CPU, but at present that ACTUALLY IS A NEGATIVE because games are more expensive to produce up to the Xbox's standard so as a result, the PS3 has the same if not worse graphics (at the moment) and the prices are more expensive.

Secondly, the 360 has a full years worth of games on the market AHEAD of the PS3. That's a massive lead.

Thirdly, you cannot play all of the games from the PS2 on the PS3. This is totally incorrect and misleading.

IMO, you can't even compare the two at the moment. The 360 is way ahead until Sony use the potential of the PS3..... and who knows if that will ever happen.

The PS3 and Xbox are both amazing consoles in many ways. The PS3 takes advantage of todays amazing software, as it is the newest. Yet, Sony has yet to utilize this software to its greatest potential. The PS3 also lacks on games, but it is only natural being the latest gaming hardware yet. However, the games shelve a heavy price, for a new game ranging in most countries up to the $100 line. Nevertheless, you get what you pay for. And to all PS3 fanboys, you can't argue that the PS3 beats the Xbox because of Bluray, that's the reason the PS3 is more expensive.
The 360 has two main advantages over the PS3, being an older software, bringing a huge library of games to stock, aswell as having an amazing online service. You also get amazing bang for your buck if you have a Windows Media Center. The Red Ring of Death... this cannot be argued on. If you give your 360 horrable conditions, you get the RROD. If you give it prime conditions, 1 out of 30 of you will get the RROD. Simple as that. However, the PS3 will thrive in either, with 2 out of 100 of your systems braking down.
I've played both, and let me say, both are amazing. Either buy a 360 now, and go crazy with the online gaming, huge choice of games, and media capabilities, or buy a PS3, watch bluray, surf the net, play games, and pray and wait for the online and amazing graphical wonders to come.

PS3 can't do some of the things Xbox 360 can, but could Run bigger and better graphic games thanks to blue Ray but havent, well at least not yet, Sony havent took advantage of the power it has, only time will tell? As for the Nintendo WII, I think its aimed more for the less experienced gamers of all ages who dont care about all this complicated Crap lol, good console for its affordable price. People will alwasy prefer one or the other, and both are awesome machines, think how far they've come from the PS1 days, in a relatively short space of time. I'm going to go with the PS3, because Sony has always wiped the floor with the rival consoles, and I think in time it will do the same with the Xbox.I think the Xbox was possibly rushed out to beat the PS3 onto the market, and get in while they could, hence the reliability issues.

Besides, they are still working on that system. Maybe soon we will be able to do the same things. Wait until PS3 gets a lot of games and then you will see which console is better. I am more into playing single player games. Xbox 360 doesn't have enough single player games. That is why I am not fond of.
