A new gadget technology has been invented for the planes. After the 9/11 air travel security concerns have supported Boeing to create a remote controlled autopilot system. This new gadget autopilot system will have to prevent the terrorists from hijacking the planes.The project has been already patented and they say that in about three years they are going to have a remotely controlled autopilot system.
How this system will work? Well, the system can be activated manually or by sensors. If the pilot sees that the situation is at stake he can manually turn the autopilot system on. Or if the pilot does not do that, the system will activate itself automatically if it notices any pressure on the cockpit door. The sensors will trigger the autopilot system and it will pilot the plane to the nearest military base or airport.
This system will surely prevent the terrorist from making a missile out of an aircraft. However, nobody knows what will happen on board. And what they are going to try to do. One thing will be for sure. Once the autopilot system is on you will not be able to turn it off. This is a good thing and the ground controllers will direct and control the plane.
The autopilot system will be controlled from the ground via radio waves, satellite GPS and a special landing system also known as "auto-land function". All these systems working together will assure a secure landing on a military base which will help to save very many people.
As we said the autopilot system will be ready in about three years. The Boeing project is also very similar to European effort that has been announced last year. So there will be two different systems that will help secure planes. That means more planes with this gadget system on-board.
