They have created a gadget that is supposed to shock the world. They have invented a new technology in the field of micro-displays. Lumus Optical has created micro РІР display glasses "Designer". They will help people stop watching movies on small screens of portable media players.
These glasses are light weight and stylish and they have got a proprietary system of lenses, built in projector, and LCD display all in one. The picture is being transmitted to the Display and you can watch the movie.
Viewing a movie using this gadget is like watching a 60 inch TV set from a distance of about 3 meters. Amazing, huh? To get that kind of clearance and quality the company has used the Light-guide Optical Element (LOE).
There are silver particles in the glass or plastic of the glasses and it reflects the picture that is projected on them. Their reflecting characteristics are not bad and with help of them the image that you see seems to be like it is on the big screen.
The resolution of this display is 640 x 480 pixels which is very good for such a size. It took Lumus Optical about 5 years to create glasses with such high resolution. At first they had the resolution of about 320 x 240. In the future the company is going to make this gadget even lighter, better and increase the number of pixels shown.
The display is showing you the image that is being projected on it. It reflects the image and directs it towards the lenses, and then the image is being zoomed by a prism that makes the image bigger and creates mirror image so that you can watch it with no problems.
This gadget is note being sold yet but it there already are many people who are interested in buying such a cool device. "Designer" is a concept of the future and you will be able to see the presentation of this gadget on the Consumer Electronics Show in January.
