Google Chrome OS source code and VMWare version are available
Finally Chromium OS gets its source code opened and right today you can run the first rough version of the Google Chrome OS using VMWare. That's all great apart from poor compatibility and other childhood diseases which I'm sure Google will cure in about a year. They do actually point that out on their official blog. Reminds me a lot of this time last year when first rumors followed by first beta versions of Windows 7 started to come out. Anyway, the big news about Chrome OS is that everyone can lay their hands on it, plus a splash of facts and first test results.

Windows 7 Beta review
Shortly after Windows Vista launch, appeared first gossips about intensive work on a new OS - codenamed Windows Vienna. Seeing the blast that made Windows Vista in delivering completely new user interface, compared to XP, everybody thought that next Windows will have even more differences and will be completely revolutionary. Years passed, Microsoft released first Service Pack for Vista, renamed Windows Vienna to Windows 7 and we all started to wait for the first information about new OS. Now, when Windows 7 Beta is publicly available, we must say that it IS a big step forward: not revolutionary (like Vista after XP), but evolutionary. After all piles of garbage that were thrown at Vista during its lifespan, it is pleasing to see that Windows 7 is not a completely new OS - it is Windows Vista made how it was meant to be. In this review we'd like to describe some new features, compare it to the previous version, and warn users about possible bugs and glitches in Beta.

Google Chrome OS vs Jolicloud
Since Google Chrome OS announcement has came down the pipeline from officials, most of reviewers on the web found themselves in tireless trial of opposing Chrome OS to Windows 7, Mac OS X Snow Leopard and Linux (Mint mostly). This all is very interesting and I recon debates will not stop even when Win 7 and Chrome OS will both be out of beta. Yet there could be a point missed in these discussions. Google underlines web orientation of the announced operating system, which in few words means it will do everything perfectly well until you decide to launch an app installed on your netbook, old PC, you name it, rather than using resources of web servers. Windows 7 on the other hand is meant to be everything for everyone. Therefore they are not quite in the same league. So, here is what we are going to do then – stack up Chrome OS with Jolicloud.

Android 1.5 expected, SDK is already there
Following the news about iPhone 3.0 firmware, we have recently found out that highly anticipated Android OS will also be refined to 1.5 version in the closest time. The 3.0 OS from Apple is the final solution for iPhone 3G because all-in-all it is clear that there will be next gen device sooner or later. So the latest release is nothing but a final chord in my view which of course is good to have in betweens. No conceptually new features therefore. The upcoming Android 1.5 is different however. Very young but very grown-up at the same time platform is after diametrically opposite results.

Jolicloud - a new OS for netbooks
Netbooks is what everyone is up to today. As they become more and more popular, it becomes more and more obvious that netbooks are very different from laptops and should be treated differently. It is the meaning that small display, keyboard, poor performance all together are willing to have a little bit different software, and sometimes maybe completely different program interfaces. Or probably what netbook users need is a new operating system, light weight and user friendly. Tariq Krim, Netvibes Founder, is also one of many, who are not satisfied with what OS his netbook is running, so here he is with an operating system aimed to fit well netbook user's needs. It is called Jolicloud and Tariq Krim says he will be realesing beta version of it pretty soon.

Visual Explorer
I'd like to recommend a new web browser to you, called Visual Explorer. I've been using it since it was in beta and it's got some great tricks up its sleeve. Although it's based on Internet Explorer the feature list leaves IE for dead in my opinion. There are some amazing security features, and the ability to print a web page exactly as it appears on your screen, something that no other web browser I know of offers.

Oh, and did I mention it's free?

Microsoft Auto 4.0 will debut tomorrow at CeBIT 2009
Cars are probably the least computerized modern world's part of life from the user's point of view. Undoubtedly, car manufacturers have gone far away that software and hardware alley if we speak about vehicle control systems or all the engines sensors and suspension adjusters, but for driver and passengers there usually is not much left of that processing power. Even in today's luxury sedans you all you get is a lite shell for GPS, e-mail or media stuff. Things however are slightly better with mobile operating systems. Your Window Mobile for instance can be synchronized with Fiat 500. In any case though cars don't match with even netbooks mostly I think because of lack of common platform. This is where Microsoft cuts in with their Auto vehicle software platform. Its version Auto 4.0 will be shown tomorrow at Hanover's CeBIT 2009.

This keyboard has a BackSpace button that I think no other keyboard has. Why did they not invent it before: it is so convenient to have one under your fingers if you have made a mistake? This electronic gadget works with all the Windows Operating Systems starting from Windows 98 you just need to install some drivers for it.
