Samsung is preparing a new cheap and cheerful E2120
Tired of ground shaking, mind blowing announcements of the new Zune HD and iPod Touch with camera? Well, there you are then – a piece of triumph of common sense and substance over almost anything else a mobile phone is able to house and feature in its body. This is Samsung E2120 and isn't it simple as black and white?! Don't get me wrong though, here we like such things. Think of it: Nokia is the biggest smartphone seller at the moment, but the amount of profit they raise on it is nothing compared to what they get from day-to-day plain and simple talk-phones. That's how Samsung is doing it.

LG Chocolate BL20 slider, 5MP camera is best in it
LG Chocolate BL40 has been launched in early September. And now, right this Monday, 28 they have announced new Chocolate series BL20 slider. Is it much like Palm with its Pre and less well equipped Pixi sitting in the pipeline. Only that since Pre has gone cheaper, prices are on the different level. I’ve brought Palm example because it’s the freshest of the case, all manufacturers do the same at some degree. Since LG Chocolate BL20 is not that much of a pump like Pixi, we’ll just have a short specs walkthrough. Release of the BL20 is going to happen in Q4 in UK at O2.

Baselworld '09, day 1. Ulysse Nardin Chairman hybrid smartphone
As we hoped, Swiss gentlemen from Ulysse Nardin haven’t allowed a slight doubt to emerge in our minds about their punctuality. Right as they said earlier this month, a very first smartphone with hybrid technologies in it will be unveiled at Baselworld. Today is the first day of the exhibition – and here it is then - Ulysse Nardin Chairman hybrid smartphone. A couple of weeks back Ulysse Nardin shared only a picture of the phone’s main feature – a kinetic charger. At that time it may have looked sketish and one could thing that it wouldn’t be a handy prototype neither it would be any good as a smartphone when they show it. But from now Ulysse Nardin’s should be considered by others as a competitor because along with functionality and style Chairman brings character of a discrete device for grown-ups.

Nokia Erdos with OLED display enters 8800 series
There are good phones and there are bad phones. And there also are expensive ones for no reasonable feature that would make sense in a mobile phone. That’s what I though about Nokia 8800 series when it came out in early December last year, had its season’s shopping craze and then, sort of, forgotten because crisis has broke out. And now, would you believe, there is a new 8800 series entrant. Only rumored and not confirmed in any way Nokia Erdos seems to me so far that it follows its predecessors right by their footsteps, but is it?

Kyocera EOS with full body flexible OLED display
Kyocera developers who resident in San Diego and Bangalore have gratefully shared their groundwork that incorporates mobile phone technologies of tomorrow. At the first glance the Kyocera EOS concept phone doesn’t seem to have more than seven or ten percents of parts our eyes got used to. If EOS was an end product, it wouldn’t need to be plugged for a recharge, would feature very innovative ergonomics and tactile sensations of human’s skin. All that though is achieved by technologies that are already used today but have never before been united in a mobile phone.
