Being very busy I have to read the documents and the contracts on the road and sometimes I have to memorize some stuff for myself. It is very hard to highlight it because the car is moving and it is difficult to write it down. The gadget that helped me with that was the C-Pen that I bought recently.Its main function is to capture some printed text and memorize it. It is very easy if you like reading books and writing out some smart expressions and sayings. That is what I do except I do it with my contracts and documents.
All you need to do to make it works is just push the activation button on its side and then move the pen over the text you want to scan. It works just like a high lighter so it will be easy for you to find the text that you need. The text is stored into the pen's memory and it will be safe there. The thing that I like about this gadget is that you can transfer the text to your computer any time. You are going to need an IR port installed to your computer but it is very easy to do. You can copy and paste the text into M Word or M Excel applications etc. When you get it close to your IR port it will be recognized as a standard drive so you can copy files from there.
You can actually scan some text and send it to your Palm too. When you connect it to your Palm via Infra-Red port if you have M Outlook or any PIM's you will be able to scan data from this gadget.
There is also a good function that this pen gadget has: You can actually translate the text that you have highlighted, isn't that great? I find it very convenient for strangers from other countries. The pen is able to translate any scanned word from English to French, German, Italian, Swedish and visa versa. I'd say it is an awesome feature except for I am not using it that much.
Here comes my favorite function. Supposedly you have scanned some sentence but you do not like the way it is written. What are you going to do? The answer is easy with this pen you can edit the text that you have scanned. You just need to turn this function on and write something with this pen. It can be a letter or a number this gadget will recognize it and will make the changes you want. C-Pen follows its own movements and knows what you are writing. Sounds easy however it is very difficult to do.
You can use this pen all day long to store the text because it can store up to 2000 pages of text and keep it there for as long as you need. Besides, the batteries will hold up to 4 days of normal use. I was taking this wonderful gadget to a business trip and I was able to store everything I needed without any recharge.
Sometimes it is easier to scan the text then to write it down somewhere else. You should really buy a gadget like this because they could be very useful.
The main disadvantage of this gadget is its cost. Depending on the model that you want to buy it will cost you from $ 170 to $ 250. Think if you need it before you buy one like that.
