Israel seems to have created the first ever solar hybrid power plant to meet its local power needs. This futuristically designed power plant consists of 30 solar reflectors including a 30 meter high tower shaped like a flower. In order to be capable of generating energy all day long, the plant can switch to gas powered turbines at night.In addition to that, not much space is used for this wonderful power plant with its capacity to supply power to distant areas linked to its local grids. Before going to the tower, the sun rays are delivered by its 30 high efficiency heliostats. After that, the solar receiver turns these rays into solar energy to finally power its small turbine.
The turbine can be operated on bio diesel, natural gas or bio gas during sun sets or cloudy weather. This sustainable hybrid power plant is expected to start working on June 24th to be capable to sustain about 70 homes. This green power plant is going to be launched by AORA which is a leader of solar power technologies.
This high efficiency power plant is located on half an acre of land and offers the power at a reduced cost than other solar energy plants. Its solar receiver features 100 Kw. With such power generating systems like this, the world could make their lives more green and clean.
