Starting at the time when there were first chats about first production model of an OLED display there hardly been a front page of our site without an article about new OLED gadget. The technology is developing really very fast. Not a long while ago we were happy to see first OLED portable media player, then mobile phone - lots of those especially at MWC 2009 - then Apple’s upcomings and now after a short while we have found out there is a designer’s project featuring a flexible OLED display with touch capabilities. Designer’s project, however, leaves a shade of doubt on question whether it will come out soon or will it remain in the same design if it actually does. The design of the gadget is done by Alexandre Fourn for Hermes which is currently making and selling lots of different fashion accessories. The most technological of them is a range of watches. As you might have guessed already, flexible OLED touchscreen will be then the most advanced piece of Hermes’ products. The concept is an organizer that will fold into a smaller stylish package when not needed. This then is a sort of a mixture of e-paper and touchscreen technology that in present can hardly go together. OLED organizer from Hermes will not plausibly have any other difficulties in production. And quite reversely - an electronic organizer small as that can substitute a netbook or an ultraportable leaving you in a need for mobile phone only. The shell should be easy to set up and there actually is even more planned for Hermes digital diary. Apart from organizer it has email and RSS icons on the picture, should also have Internet over WLAN and speakers. Anyway, I’d like to see flexible OLED touchscreen first.
