Guys from G.Skill company that residents in Taipei have released today their latest effort in DDR3 memory sticks manufacturing. As the official press release indicates, they were thinking of all branches modern day computing could throw in. But these are just words. What they did exactly is compiled a number of memory kits all consisting entirely of DDR3 modules that one could own for a couple of years in advance without thinking of upgrading. Gaming, business applications or simply lots of running programs should really fit into 8GB capacity (2GB x 4) which is the smallest of what G.Skill has just rolled out.Smallest and next to the only option available. There are only two in fact. The other one is 12GB (2GB x 6) PI series and is only compatible with Intel X58 platform. The rest of its specs include 1600MHz memory frequency and 1.5V voltage.
G.Skill DDR3 RAM series compatible with AM3 and/or Intel P55 platforms are much greater in numbers and differ widely in specifications. On the one hand there is power saving low voltage ECO series with 1600MHz and just 1.35V. On the other – Core i7 only PIS series running at 2200MHz. Of course, it has heat spreaders and voltage is kept in check (1.65V) but there is no denial that speed was the priority. I wonder why G.Skill managers decided not to sell six sticks of these rather than just four. Anyway, for more information, go ahead and analyze all the other options available through the table of their products.
