Jet engine powered by hydrogen
It would be great if in the near future we were able to see how these ultra-jet planes were put into operation. Yet, there is quite an important point that prevents companies from using extensively these engines: production of hydrogen fuel on a large scale (without emitting carbon dioxide) still remains a significant problem so there will still be danger to our environment.

Portable generator converts waste into energy
GadgetsAlthough developing alternate fuel sources is most certainly a worthwhile effort, a group of Purdue scientists are looking to demolish two birds with a single, um, bag of refuse, as its portable generator not only creates useful electricity, but it disposes of worthless garbage while it's at it. The aptly-named "tactical biorefinery" processes several kinds of wastes at once, which it then converts into fuel via two parallel processes before burning the results in a diesel engine to power a generator.

Researchers develop closed hydrogen fuel cell system
The research team has reportedly found a way to better control the way the fuel is used, thus eliminating the need for costly recycling stations, and they insinuate that their findings are "ideal" for devices currently using small internal combustion engines that lack emissions controls. Of course, the system has yet to be broadly trialed, but if things go as planned, there's even hopes to link several of the new cells together to rival the power of cells currently being tested in the automotive industry

Biofuel Koenigsegg Supercar Burns Fuel as Fast as You Can Grow It
y following conscientious and forward thinking strategies, Koenigsegg has managed to create the Bio Fuel Powered CCXR - environmentally friendly 1200 with even more spectacular performance than the standard CCX.These two almost conflicting results are made possible due to the simple fact that the ethanol in biofuel has the positive side effect of cooling the combustion chambers, as well as a higher octane value, well over 100 RON, which gives the high power.

PS3 price cut will stick, says industry analyst
Jul 16th 2007 12:11PM by Joshua TopolskyFiled under: GamingAdding a negligible amount of fuel to a fire which should probably just burn out already, industry analyst Michael Pachter predicts that the 80GB PS3 will drop in price to \$499 once the remaining stocks of the 60GB version have sold through. Of course, Sony has flip-flopped so much on this issue that it's hard to take this sort of "news" with anything other than a massive grain of salt.
