We recently purchased the Drinkwell 360 Fountain because we have multiple cats and dogs and had read great reviews on the product. We had been happy with it until last week. On Friday my 13 year old daughter found one of our cats dead. It turns out that his tongue was black as if it had been burned and the autopsy showed that he had been electrocuted. The injuries the cat sustained from this were consistent with electrocution with water. Early Friday morning we had had an electrical storm and had experienced brown outs and the only thing we could come up with was that our one year old orange tabby was drinking from the fountain and there was a power surge and electricity arced to our cat. We inspected every power cord in the house for bite marks to see if maybe it had been from that, but we found none. Our cat was an indoor cat and we are devastated and my daughter is traumatized. We have boxed up the Drinkwell and will be returning it to to the retailer.
