Canon X Mark I Calculator Mouse

Jul 27, 2011

Today Canon announced the first mouse-calculator hybrid. The keypad on this gadget represents the long lost num-pad on laptops or portable keyboards. Mouse itself is a wireless Bluetooth 2.0 laser mouse with three keys on top plus a scroll wheel. Number keys can also be used to input numeric information, but only using a certain app. The shape is not very comfortable but you don’t have much of a choice if you want this kind of hybrid. Built-in calculator works pretty smoothly and quickly. Accountants, I’m sure, will find this gadget very useful. Mouse works on a pair of AA batteries, which makes it even more convenient.

The Device is to be released in August-September. Starting price will be $ 60 either Black or White versions. The same day Canon announced a full-sized Bluetooth calculator, the X Mark I Keypad. Maybe I’m missing something, but I just don’t see any logic in this. Why would you buy a calculator mouse, which is not very comfortable as a mouse, when there is a full sized Bluetooth calculator?

Well, this is just my personal opinion. Anyway, this will be a good office gadget well-worth it’s sixty bucks.
