It's not been too long since Asus Eee PC Seashell series was announced and presented rapidly afterwords. This was in mid May. And now, when you can preorder the Ion based 1201N, there is a new one coming out. This time though the new Eee PC 1005P and 1005PE will get Intel's latest platform featuring Pineview processors. At this point, there is only a brief splash of information from online shops about upcoming 1005P and 1005PE models and much more of it is expected to appear during CES 2010 which will take place in January.So far it is only clear that both 1005P and 1005PE will have the same Intel Atom Pineview N450 45nm processor clocking at 1.66GHz paired with single channel 1GB DDR2 module. These will run Windows 7 Starter which is not so promising, but at least both models cost way less than five hundred dollars. Choice of two colors - black or white, 10.1 inch display, 3 cell battery, USB 2.0 x 3 ports and a webcam also come as standard. The only thing that 1005PE has over 1005P is a 250GB hard drive and as near as makes no difference $439 on the tag. Eee PC 1005P though has only 160GB HDD, but then it is priced just under $400.
