NoiseAssasin™ 2.0 reduces noise in the busiest environments (6 to 9dB). Additionally, Acoustic Voice Activity Detector (AVAD) is a fail-safe mechanism which is of great use if the Voice Activity Sensor (VAS) doesn't touch your face. However, due to the new ear tips the Jawbone Prime stays closer to your face and thus the sensor on the headset end touches your jaw, and this, consequently, leads to a higher performance of the headset. Addition of Bluetooth 2.1+ EDR is an advantage of Jawbone Prime.
The main rival of the new Jawbone Prime is Plantronics Voyager Pro, which has approximately the same specifications, but is cheaper: if Jawbone Prime costs 129, 99 USD, you can buy Plantronics Voyager Pro for 99, 99 USD.
Good news for Aliph Jawbone fans: the company launched an "EARCANDY" edition of its new Bluetooth headset which is available in Frankly SCARLET, 'YELLO!’, Drop Me A LIME, and LILAC You Mean It colors.
